Information Visualization class: Final Project. This visualization aims to depict the various Asian Pacific-interest student organizations at the University of Pennsylvania, and provide information about them in an informational and comparable way. (Visualization uses SVGs. Best viewed in Chrome, passable in IE9, may not work in Firefox.) This project combines some of the most important aspects of my life — design, the APA community, OCD data collection, and school. Hehe

This is my favorite of all the APA gear I’ve designed at Penn. It’s really strongly influenced by Akufuncture. The “APAHW” printed a little smaller than I would’ve liked on the back, but the idea is still there.

“Day & Night” is a card series I made in 2008 that I only recently photographed. It’s a full card set that reinvents the idea of red and black into day and night, and the four suits into stars (night), candy (night), balloons (day), and clouds (day). The face cards are anime inspired and reflect seniority.

Site for UPenn’s all-male South Asian dance troupe, Penn Dhamaka. It’s a WordPress theme with a couple extra functions — took a lot of widget and plug-in hunting to set it up. There are some bugs because I had so much trouble with using SuperSized fullscreen image gallery. Setting up student groups has been a lot of emphasis on making it easy to update for people without HTML experience, so these projects are taking a little longer.

A wordpress theme I made for Wharton Media & Entertainment Club (MBA). It’s still in the process of tune-ups and implementation, but the theme is done. Working with WP has been really satisfying, because it’s so flexible and powerful. That sounds like an awful commercial for WP, but it really is.

Two versions of a flyer I made very recently for a New Student Orientation event on behalf of APAHW. (You can tell it’s mine because I overused the Museo fonts.) I loved that I got to apply what I learned in Digital Design Foundations for the texturing, especially in the older version. In the end, the newer version was much more applicable to the atmosphere of the event, but I still liked how both turned out.

Look at this “F”: so sexy and antique. The content on this flyer is a little outdated, since this design was ditched later.
