Context
Face2Race was produced for the final project of the GSD Quantitative Aesthetics course, which explored techniques of discerning and designing for aesthetic signals. Our final project explored the question, "What is the minimum visual signal necessary to discern racial identity from sketched drawings?”
Impact
The project uses a Tensorflow implementation of Pix2Pix and DeepLearn.js to display a web page that will allow users to click through and select the various inputs (sketches) and intentionally skewed models to visualize the effect of biased data sets on rendering a person's phenotypical characteristics.
